About Programme

About the Program
Within the Bartın University Vocational School of Health Services, the Disability Care and Rehabilitation Program has been established. It is planned to admit students to our program in the 2020–2021 Academic Year.

The Disability Care and Rehabilitation Program aims to train qualified human resources who can support healthcare professionals specialized in care and rehabilitation services, and who possess the knowledge and skills to meet and facilitate the daily living needs of individuals with disabilities and special needs.

Graduates of the Disability Care and Rehabilitation Program have employment opportunities in institutions such as official and private disability care and rehabilitation centers affiliated with the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, nursing homes, care homes, medical centers and outpatient clinics providing primary healthcare services, physical therapy and rehabilitation units, special education centers, infirmaries of various institutions, and the homes of individuals with disabilities.

Mission
To train qualified professionals who aim to improve the quality of life of individuals with disabilities; who are sensitive to regional and global needs; who adopt lifelong learning; who are committed to ethical values; who effectively use information and health technologies; and who possess professional competencies in their field.

Vision
To be a pioneering program that contributes to raising awareness about individuals with disabilities, fosters social responsibility in protecting their rights, and aims to solve existing and potential problems through scientific approaches.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

PEO-1: To train professionals who have comprehensive knowledge of different types of disabilities and the developmental characteristics of these individuals, and who can evaluate their care, support, and rehabilitation needs through a holistic approach.

  • Objective 1.1: To provide competence in identifying the developmental needs of individuals with disabilities.
  • Objective 1.2: To develop the ability to distinguish disability-specific support services and approaches.
  • Objective 1.3: To equip students with the skills to take an active role in rehabilitation processes.

PEO-2: To train responsible individuals who aim to improve the quality of life of individuals with disabilities by adhering to ethical principles, legal regulations, and human rights in professional practices.

  • Objective 2.1: To raise awareness about professional ethical rules and disability rights.
  • Objective 2.2: To provide knowledge of legislation related to services for individuals with disabilities.

PEO-3: To train qualified professionals who possess scientific thinking, critical analysis, and problem-solving skills, and who can effectively use health, education, and information technologies.

  • Objective 3.1: To provide the ability to analyze scientific knowledge related to the field.
  • Objective 3.2: To develop competence in using technological resources and information systems in professional practice.
  • Objective 3.3: To enhance decision-making and problem-solving skills within professional responsibility areas.

PEO-4: To train individuals who can adapt to teamwork, communicate effectively, and are open to collaboration in services for individuals with disabilities.

  • Objective 4.1: To provide skills for participating in interdisciplinary teamwork and managing collaboration processes.
  • Objective 4.2: To develop competence in effective and professional communication with different stakeholders.

PEO-5: To train individuals who adopt lifelong learning, continuously sustain their personal and professional development, and are innovative and socially responsible.

  • Objective 5.1: To raise awareness about professional development and access to up-to-date knowledge.
  • Objective 5.2: To develop responsibility in scientific and cultural activities, research, and projects.
