Awareness and Pride Together at BARU SHMYO!

As part of April 2nd World Autism Awareness Day, we came together with individuals with autism and their valued families at the panel titled “From Diagnosis to Adulthood: A Roadmap for Individuals with Autism,” organized in cooperation with the Bartın Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services.

Following this meaningful panel, we experienced a moment of great pride for our vocational school! Certificates of appreciation were presented to the representatives of our programs—Child Development and Disability Care and Rehabilitation—which received the 2025 Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Barrier-Free University Program Badge.

We also sincerely congratulate the programs across our university that earned this distinction, including Social Work, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, English Language Teaching, Coaching Education, and Political Science and Public Administration.

As SHMYO, we will continue to work with determination to remove barriers and raise awareness both in education and in social life.
